We had planned to take a family picture when Eli and Camie moved back to the Valley. Little did we know that the date we set to do this would be one of the coldest days of the year. We had a great photographer that made this day an extra fun day. He tried very hard to have everyone looking at him and smiling all at once. For the most part it worked. We appreciate you, Dan D., taking time out of your busy schedule to capture our beautiful family on film. Even though we were freezing we had a lot of fun being together. We then rewarded everyone for their willingness to stand out in the cold and took them all to get pizza. I think that was the reason why they all cooperated so well. They were HUNGRY! And who doesn't like pizza and pushed bread sticks from Pizza Hut.Where we ended up taking this picture is the ranch that Van's dad owned when our kids were growing up. We use to bring the kids down here to the ranch while Van and his dad and Jason (grandson of Ted and Marvel) were working. We would go fishing, go swimming, and 4-wheeling all around the many acres. Later when Grandpa Hale sold the ranch to the Orvis Company Eli was able to help build Lee's (Orvis owner) cabin that is still here on the property. As we warmed up in between pictures inside the cabin, we all went back in time with many memories that we as a family have had on the ranch. Lee even has a few pictures of our family doing different things there on the ranch which helped us remember some of those memories. All in all it was a fun afternoon and evening that we will all remember. Thanks Eli for the suggestion to taking the pictures at the ranch. It was perfect.
